Italian Wedding Cake + Ermine Buttercream

There is something to be said about finding someone to love for the rest of your life especially one who will love you back!

I have had to greatest pleasure of seeing that love grow over the last 8 years between my sister and her now husband. The 2 of them are not only some of my favorite people but also some of my biggest hypemans and supporters. They are always pushing me to try something new, push my dreams to the limit, and never give up.

Last weekend, after a year and a half of planning, we finally got to have the best party to celebrate them officially getting married! Not only did we get to party until the sun came up but I got to make their wedding cake! And boy was it a cake to remember! There were countless commutes between McKinney and Dallas to bake but still be at all the wedding events, to running out of frosting halfway through the cake, to not even being able to stack it myself at the venue (thank you @leslie.davis1 you are a lifesaver) because I was at the ceremony in McKinney.

When Rachel showed me her inspiration, I was like we will find a way to make it happen. We did an Italian Wedding Cake and Ermine Buttercream, then individually pressed each individual flower and strategically but also randomly placed each flower to achieve the “wildflower” look that Rachel wanted! It served approximately 200 people (8-10-12-14 inch rounds) and not a single piece went to waste!!

Although I think I am just now catching up on sleep 10 days later, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat to celebrate the 2 of you again and have all of your closest friends and family there with us! Here is to forever and maybe a 1 year anniversary party?
